Dave McKean

Dave McKean's graphic novel, Black Dog – The dreams of Paul Nash was suggested to me in the early stages of this project. It has been helpful to gauge the level of stylisation I could achieve in my own project.

There a solid mixture of nightmarish illustrations and profound storytelling within the book and really enjoyed the colour choices McKean used for each stage of the narrative.

I hope to take some inspiration from the surrealism of the dreamscapes he managed to create.
