New poster design?

Last month I created a simple poster design for my course and film which I still like, however after taking another look at it I think it could be greatly improved and made to be quite interesting.

Here's the old design for reference.

and here is my new design which i quickly thumbnailed today.

and as you can see the key concept and shape reminds from the last design, I have just added some more detailed elements and shapes. I think these will make the design more eye-catching and dynamic. I have been analysis the compostion of my favourite illustrators and designers to see how they make their work. I will upload the final product when I finish :)
